FedEx to lay off 800+ employees in Texas

COPPELL, Texas (WMC) – FedEx is closing down operations in Coppell, Texas.

The last day of operations is set for January 29, according to a WARN notice filed with the state. A total of 856 workers will be laid off.

FedEx issued this statement regarding the closure:

FedEx Supply Chain will no longer be providing third-party logistics for the customer that occupies space at 840 W Sandy Lake Rd. in Coppell, Texas. 

Team members at this facility were notified in advance and some will be eligible for other roles within the company, including at other FedEx facilities in the area. We are committed to supporting affected employees through job placement assistance, relocation aid, or severance, as applicable.
