tornado that touched down in northwest Houston Monday afternoon left downed power lines and several homes damaged.

A tornado was confirmed around 2 p.m. near Willowbrook and Jersey Village, after a tornado watch was issued for Houston and Southeast Texas through Monday evening.  The tornado warning for portions of Harris and Montgomery counties was canceled at 2:13 p.m.

Several fire departments across the Houston region – including Cy-Fair, Klein and Spring – confirmed damages to homes, though no injuries were reported as of 3:35 p.m.

Here are the areas that have been affected by the tornado:

Cy-Fair

Cy-Fair Fire Department confirmed around 2:45 p.m. that Monday’s tornado touched down in the Riata Ranch subdivision, which left behind damage and downed power lines.

The agency encouraged residents to avoid downed power lines and contact gas companies if they smell gas.

Several homes were damaged in Klein due to Monday’s tornado, authorities confirmed.

Some homes were reported to have structural damage in the 8000 block of Summer Grove Circle and near Louetta Road in Klein.

Fire departments also responded to a residential fire at Spring Cypress and Doerre Road, where lightning apparently struck the roof of the home as the tornado moved through the area, knocking down trees and downing power lines.

In the Memorial Northwest neighborhood, residents reported significant property damage, authorities said.

Around 4 p.m., downed trees could be seen all along the neighborhood, with residents working to clear the debris left behind. Significant damage could be seen at several homes, including a garage that was pulled from its foundation and a Christmas tree that was ripped out from inside of another home.
