Texas Tech women’s basketball closed out the Hoopfest Women’s Basketball Challenge with a 67-47 win against the University of North Texas Thursday at the Comerica Center in Frisco despite being outscored during the second quarter.

Tech ended the first quarter with a 18-8 lead but was unable to keep the momentum going into the second period. The Mean Green outscored the Lady Raiders 14-11 during the second quarter.

However, the Lady Raiders bounced back after halftime with a 22-point third quarter. The Mean Green couldn’t keep up during the third quarter, scoring 13 points.

Senior guard Bailey Maupin led Tech’s third quarter scoring efforts with nine points. Maupin ended the game with her second-highest point total of the season at 22 points.

The Lady Raiders moved to 9-0 with the 20-point win over North Texas.

The Lady Raiders will head back to Lubbock to play Wichita State University at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the United Supermarkets Arena.
