Hill, who was listed as questionable all week and became a true game-time decision Friday, was not wearing pads or a helmet when the teams emerged for pregame warmups.

The Longhorns’ linebacker depth is set to be tested. Ty’Anthony Smith, one of UT’s backup options for Hill, is suspended for the first half of the game after picking up a targeting penalty last week against Arkansas. Trey Moore, a converted defensive end, and Elijah “Bo” Barnes, a freshman, are two players who could be called upon to play in the absence of Smith and Hill.

Hill, a former five-star recruit and a player who could hear his name called on the first day of this spring’s NFL Draft, leads the Longhorns with 69 tackles even after missing last week’s game. His four sacks rank second on the team, as do his seven tackles for loss. Hill also has 31½ career tackles for loss, having led the SEC with 16½ last season.Â
