Two of the three remaining undefeated teams in Central Texas — the Class 2A DII Granger Lions and the Regents Knights in TAPPS — saw their seasons end Friday night in the third round of the 2025 state high school football playoffs. That leaves only the 12-0 Lake Travis Cavaliers, who ran over Laredo United in the regional semifinals, as the only Austin-area school still working on season perfection.

In all, three area teams won Friday to advance to next week’s UIL regional finals. And three teams lost. Two more will play Saturday.

Advancing Friday: Lake Travis, Vandegrift, Dripping Springs and Llano. We’re assured of at least one area team playing in the state semifinals in two weeks since Vandegrift and Dripping Springs will meet in next week’s Class 6A DII state quarterfinals/regional finals.

Losing Friday: San Marcos, Wimberley and Granger.

These are Week 3 results from Central Texas playoff games (regional semifinals):

Lake Travis 41, Laredo United 7

Vandegrift 24, San Marcos 7

Dripping Springs 45, Medina Valley 14
