The Razorback volleyball team heads to the Lone Star State for contests with Texas and Texas A&M this weekend.

The pair of matches will likely be Arkansas’ most difficult of the season so far, as it’s the Hogs’ first look at top 10 competition. The Longhorns are currently ranked No. 2 in the country, and the Aggies sit at No. 10.

Texas is one of only two undefeated Division I programs left standing, along with No. 1 Nebraska. The Longhorns have dropped only three sets in conference play, all last weekend against Tennessee and Alabama. Texas tops the SEC in kills/set (14.86) and assists/set (13.84) and is in the top three in hitting percentage (.304), and digs/set (14.50).

Texas A&M took just two losses in its non-conference slate, both to ranked teams, and have only fallen once in SEC play, a five-setter to No. 3 Kentucky. Maddie Waak is the conference’s best setter with 11.56 assists/set, also No. 1 nationally. The Aggies have held opponents to a .162 hitting percentage, second lowest in the SEC, top 20 nationally.

The Hogs are 5-12 overall and 1-5 in the SEC. They went 0-2 against the Longhorns and Aggies last season.

Friday’s match against Texas is set for 6:30 p.m. and Sunday’s against A&M will be at 2 p.m. Both will be streamed live on SEC Network+.
