EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said a woman has been arrested and is facing several charges, including attempted homicide, following a stabbing Sunday night.
Just after 10:30 p.m., the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a neighborhood near I-25 and South Academy for a possible domestic violence call.
Deputies said the 911 caller said that a man and a woman were fighting, and it sounded like the woman was yelling for help.
When deputies arrived, they said they found the woman, a small child and a man with an injury to his arm.
Deputies said the woman and man were arguing when she stabbed him with a kitchen knife. The man was taken to the hospital.
The woman, identified as 31-year-old Amanda Fahey, was arrested for domestic violence, attempted homicide, second-degree assault and child abuse. At this time, deputies said she is being held at the El Paso County Jail with no bond.
“Acts of violence within families create deep harm, and our deputies responded with urgency and professionalism to protect everyone involved,” El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal said. “I am grateful for their swift actions, their compassion for the child on scene, and their commitment to seeking justice for victims in our community. We will continue to hold offenders accountable and ensure every victim receives the support and protection they deserve.”
