A Fort Worth mansion built for a Texas Rangers co-owner is headed to auction.

The castle-like home within the gated Montserrat community (9553 Bella Terra Drive) was listed for $11.75 million last month. The auction begins Wednesday and ends Dec. 18. Bids are expected to start between $4 million and $6.5 million, according to Concierge Auction.

The home was built for and once owned by Bob Simpson, Fort Worth energy legend and co-owner of the Texas Rangers. Simpson stepped down as CEO of his Fort Worth-based TXO Partners LP earlier this year.

Tarrant Appraisal District records show the property is currently owned by John Lupo and Andreana Michael.
