LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Another breezy, spring-like day on the South Plains, but a change is coming.
Highs today have been in the 80s once again with mostly sunny skies. Winds have also been gusty, from the south to southeast from 20-30 mph.

The remainder of this evening, there is a chance for isolated showers or a storm or two in the western South Plains.
Looking ahead, Friday will not be as windy as today. However, it will be warm once again over the region. I expect another round of 80+ degrees for most of the area on Friday with plenty of sunshine.

There are slight changes for the weekend and early next week.
Gusty winds will return along with cooler temperatures over the weekend. A cold front will be cooler temps Saturday and Sunday. We will see temperatures in the 30s and 40s by early Sunday and Monday morning. It’s a dry cold front, but much cooler temperatures for Sunday and Monday morning.
Other than tonight, it will remain dry for most of the area through Saturday.
