In March 2017, investigators said two young-looking men stopped their vehicle next to Aguilar’s car as he was parking near his apartment on Richcrest Drive in North Houston.
The men pulled Aguilar from his car, pistol-whipped him, and then shot him.
Deputies reported that the suspects struggled with Aguilar’s stick-shift car, abandoned it, and fled in another vehicle driven by a third accomplice.
After his murder, loved ones described Aguilar as a hardworking mechanic. He left behind a wife, a son and a daughter.
Investigators previously released surveillance video showing the getaway vehicle and the alleged gunmen walking and running from the scene.
