First Winterfest lit up Downtown El Paso, then The Fred Loya light show followed, and now it’s time for El Paso’s Lower Valley to get the city in the Christmas spirit with the annual Lights on the Lake.

Ascarate Park is transforming into a winter wonderland all month long, and the best part? It’s totally free. That means that your wallet can stay snuggled up at home while you soak in all the festive vibes.

Lights on the Lake is an El Paso tradition that allows families to enjoy a drive-thru light show while enjoying the beauty that Ascarate Park has to offer.

Ascarate Park’s Lights on The Lake Opening Night

From Dec. 6 through Jan. 6, families can enjoy a drive-thru light spectacular every night from 6 PM to 10 PM at Ascarate Park, 6900 Delta Dr. Whether you’re piling in with the kids, your significant other, your dog, or just heading out solo with a peppermint hot chocolate, this glowing trail of twinkling lights is guaranteed to deliver holiday joy.

Opening Night on Dec. 6 will be a full on Christmas party and the community is invited to celebrate the holiday season. Things kick off at 5 PM with the adorable Canine Paw-rade (because nothing says “holiday cheer” like dogs in tiny sweaters.)

At 6 PM, the official lighting ceremony begins with a special appearance from Santa Claus himself. And for the first time ever, they’re introducing a Holiday Drone Show, bringing magic to the sky in the most modern, bougie way possible.

On Dec. 13, guests are invited to stop by from 5 PM to 10 PM for Cookies with Santa. Guests will be able to enjoy free cookies and snap some photos with the big man in red from 6 PM to 8 PM.
