DALLAS — A Dallas elementary school was told to shelter in place and a couple of homes were evacuated due to a gas leak Wednesday, Dallas officials said.Â
Dallas-Fire Rescue responded to reports of a gas smell around 10:06 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, in the 7000 block of Whitehill Street, the fire department said in a press release.Â
Officials said a construction crew struck a gas line on Larmanda Street between Freemont Street and Town North Drive, the release states. The size of the line is unclear, officials said.Â
A couple of homes were evacuated as a precautionary measure, and LL Hotchkiss Elementary School was told to shelter in place, officials said.Â
Atmos was notified of the leak and is addressing the issue, the release states.Â
