ITA Airways will commence a seasonal summer service between Rome and Houston, Texas from 1 May 2026.
Services will operate three times weekly (on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) between 1 and 31 May, before increasing to five weekly frequencies from 1 June to 24 October (on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
Flights will depart Rome Fiumicino at 10:20 and arrive at Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport at 15:40. Meanwhile, services from Houston will depart at 18:10 and arrive in Rome at 11:50 the following day.
The new route will be operated by Airbus A330-900 aircraft and will mark ITA’s nineth destination in North America, where the Italian carrier already operates direct flights to New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington DC, as well as seasonal services to Chicago and Toronto.
The new route announcement follows ITA Airways’ recently launched codeshare agreements with United Airlines and Air Canada.
ITA Airways CEO and general manager Joerg Eberhart said the new route will “further enrich the airline’s intercontinental network, one of ITA Airways’ key assets.
“With this new route, we consolidate our expansion in the US market, our most important international market… The new destination is also part of a broader international growth strategy, culminating in ITA Airways joining the Star Alliance in 2026, within the integration process into the Lufthansa Group,” he added.
