HOUSTON — Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person who drove up to a man standing on a Montrose area street and pepper-sprayed him. That victim was then hit by a vehicle.

According to the Houston Police Department, it happened on June 18 on Crocker Street. Investigators say the driver of a Kia Soul pepper-sprayed the man, leaving him temporarily unable to see. Disoriented and in distress, the victim fell into the street, where he was then hit by an oncoming vehicle.

Authorities report that the man is now recovering from his injuries.

HPD’s Major Assaults unit is leading the investigation and urges anyone with information about the driver or the vehicle involved to come forward. Tips can be directed to 713-308-8800.
