HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A former volunteer youth minister at Second Baptist Church wanted for possessing child pornography was arrested Wednesday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators say they received a tip that 27-year-old Carter Thomas had admitted to “struggling with viewing child pornography online.”
At the time, investigators say he was a volunteer youth minister at Second Baptist Church where he supervised youth activities.
Investigators say a search of Thomas’s electronic devices turned up twenty-three images of child pornography.
Court records show Thomas has posted bond. As part of his bond conditions, Thomas is not allowed within 1000 feet of anywhere children gather.
ABC13 reached out to Second Baptist Church, but has not gotten a response.
