Pediatric orthopedic surgeon & hip specialist, Dr. Marcella Woiczik, shared that their work covers everything from hip and leg conditions to foot issues and fracture care. With 18 years of experience, she’s dedicated to treating children’s unique needs as they grow.
Over the past couple of years, El Paso Children’s Hospital has expanded its orthopedic team to better serve the community. Today, the department includes three full time orthopedic surgeons, two nurse practitioners, a tumor specialist, and dedicated hand surgeons.
Orthopedic surgeon & spine specialist, Dr. John Heflin, shared medicine can be demanding but being surrounded by colleagues they trust makes a world of difference.
“We provide a very comprehensive service line for children of the city and the region,” Heflin said. “The fact that it was an area in need of our services; in addition to that coming down and working with people that I trust and I’m friends with was very important for me.”
The orthopedic department works hand in hand with El Paso Children’s multispecialty center and the hospital’s full care teams. This collaboration creates a seamless experience for young patients, no matter what they’re facing.
From specialized units to state of the art treatment plans, their goal remains the same: give children the best care possible close to home.
