Suzanne Ruth Rock Kosack passed peacefully from this life November 14, 2025, in Pflugerville TX at the age of 85, with her three children by her side. Sue loved hosting holiday barbecues for family, traveling, working on puzzles, and reading, but what she really loved was playing Scrabble with family. She was born in San Jose, CA, a fifth-generation descendant of the first medical doctor in Santa Clara Valley, Henry Hulme Warburton. She embodied the pioneer spirit of her forebears. Sue attended Lakeview High School in Lakeview, OR and graduated from Oregon Technical Institute (OTI) in 1960, where she met Dale Rock from Salem OR, a technical illustration student. They were married in Klamath Falls, OR in October of 1960. They settled in San Jose and raised their family until 1977 when she was tragically widowed. She went back to school at San Jose State to get a degree in accounting. She carried on life with grace and fortitude, saying “Sometimes life is hard, and hard to understand. We’ve gone on, but not forgotten, and our joys outweigh the past.” In 1979 she married college beau Lee Kosack of Salem OR (he affectionately called her Suzie Q) they were soul mates until his passing in December 2022. She retired as an accountant for Danna and Danna, agricultural growers in the Central Valley. Suzanne is survived by her brothers, Gary Lee (spouse Angela) and William Hulme (spouse Betty) Warburton of Lakeview OR and Mt. Juliet, TN; son Chris Rock (spouse Amy; grandchildren Sarah and Dale, great grandchildren Nathanael, Eden, Ruby, and Wyatt) of Lubbock TX, and daughters Tracy Chaboya (spouse Kurt; grandchildren Kyle and Haley) of El Dorado Hills CA, and Stephanie Bellantuono (spouse Vito) of Austin, TX; step daughters Becki Kosack of Salem OR, and Jennifer Cortese of Albuquerque NM. Sue is preceded in death by her parents Byron and Mary Warburton, sisters Mary Lynn Young and Nancy Kemry, and stepdaughter Elizabeth Weaver. There will be a private celebration of life service and interment at Mission Cemetery, Santa Clara CA at a future date; Harrell Funeral Home, Austin TX will publish a tribute web page.
