SAN ANTONIO – A former Schertz police officer has been arrested amid sexual assault charges in Guadalupe County.

According to the Schertz Police Department, Officer Alberto De La Torre was fired last week for a “sustained complaint of Truthfulness.” On November 14, the department opened a sexual assault and official oppression investigation naming De La Torre as the alleged suspect.

De La Torre, who joined the department’s K-9 unit in September 2020, was the focus of an ongoing criminal investigation led by the Texas Rangers.

On December 3, Delatorre was taken into custody around during a high-risk traffic stop in the 500 block of Hinge Falls in Cibolo. He was wanted on two counts of sexual assault out of Guadalupe County and has since been booked into the Guadalupe County Adult Detention Center.
