The Dallas Mavericks (7-15) stops off at home for a game against the Miami Heat (14-7) on Wednesday night before heading back out on the road for Friday’s contest. Dallas is staring at an honest-to-goodness winstreak if they beat the Heat after handling the Clippers and Nuggets. Miami has won two of three since playing Dallas last, losing only to the Detroit Pistons in a high scoring affair.
Here’s the main things you need to know before the game kicks off.
A light injury report for Dallas, all things considered. The three usual guys are still out: Kyrie Irving, Dante Exum, and Dereck Lively II. Daniel Gafford and PJ Washington are each listed as questionable for the Mavericks; I suspect both end up playing with limitations. The Heat have a ton of guys on the report but they’re all listed as available. Norman Powell is the only player of note Miami is missing for this contest.
Expect a high-scoring affair. The last time these two teams played Miami couldn’t buy a three and they won anyway. But Dallas didn’t have Anthony Davis yet and he helps in a lot of obvious areas.
As you can tell below, you can join me in a room on Playback (embed below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start around 10:15 pm. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
