AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Surrounded by family and friends, Tascosa’s Krush Johnson officially signed to continue his college career at Texas Tech. Johnson recently wrapped up his season with the Rebels.
Johnson earned several accolades for Tascosa, including first-team all-district honors in 2024. He recorded 103 tackles during that season.
Decision influenced by coaching staff
The committed Red Raider said the decision to attend Texas Tech was influenced by the coaching staff.
“The decision was really made by the coaching staff. They’re great people and we built strong bonds over there,” Johnson said. “And they pushed me that work on me to get to Texas Tech.”
Johnson expressed appreciation for the community support he has received.
“It’s been great. It’s been fun. I love everybody that’s helped me so far. I hope that they can only push me more and I hope for more football,” he said.
When asked about advice for other players hoping to reach the next level, Johnson emphasized authenticity and effort.
“Just be yourself man. Be yourself and play as hard as you can 100% of the time and dominate,” he said.
