The restaurant offers an Indian-fusion experience shaped by an omakase-style approach
A new addition to Plano’s dining scene has arrived at Legacy North, where Jashan is introducing an elevated interpretation of Indian cuisine shaped by culture and storytelling.
The restaurant, located at 7401 Lone Star Drive, is the first venture for owner Prasanna Singaraju and features a menu crafted by chefs Ashish Bhasin and Ramesh Thangaraj, both known for their mastery of regional specialties across India.
A Vision Rooted In Heritage
Jashan began as Singaraju’s desire to create a place that reflects the heart of India in both flavor and feeling. What started as an idea nearly two years ago has grown into a restaurant positioned firmly in the realm of fine dining, where emotional connection is considered just as important as technique.
“Jashan is more than a restaurant; it’s the realization of a dream fueled by passion and perseverance,” Singaraju said on the restaurant website. “Each dish reflects my journey and connection to Indian fine dining. From the doubts of ‘can I do this?’ to the triumph of ‘I made it happen,’ Jashan embodies years of hard work and dedication. Every detail, from the decor to the menu, carries pieces of my heart.”
That sense of purpose extends to the restaurant’s mission. He said the restaurant’s food is meant to honor Indian culture and tradition, creating an experience that connects people through stories, memories and the history and heritage behind every bite.

“Our mission is to create an extraordinary dining experience where every bite immerses you in the heart of India,” Singaraju said. “At Jashan, we celebrate our rich culture through exceptional Indian cuisine, inviting you to join us on this unforgettable journey.”
A Culinary Experience Spanning India
Bhasin and Thangaraj approach the menu as a tapestry of India’s most distinctive regions. Ingredients are sourced with intention: spices from Kerala to Kashmir, fresh produce from nearby farms and seafood flown in daily. The dishes draw from culinary traditions tied to cities such as Delhi, Lucknow and coastal regions known for bright, aromatic curries.
The a la carte menu includes items such as Konkani seafood curry with scallops and cod in a coconut-tamarind broth, Goan lobster rassa cooked with a coastal masala and Malabar crab cakes seasoned with mustard seeds and curry leaves. There are playful takes on classics as well, including the demystified samosa and a rasmalai tiramisu that merges Italian and Bengali influences.
An Omakase-Style Tasting Journey
Jashan’s most distinctive offering may be its Dil Se tasting menu, presented in an omakase format. Available as a 7- or 13-course experience, it leads diners through flavors connected to the chefs’ travels and backgrounds. A 23-course version, priced at $175, pushes the concept further, guiding guests through a progression meant to reveal the stories and traditions behind each region represented.
A New Hotspot For Legacy North
With its polished setting and focus on regional nuance, Jashan aims to offer something different within Legacy North’s growing restaurant collection. It’s a space built on craft, personal history and a belief that fine dining can act as a window into culture. And with its blend of storytelling and culinary precision, the restaurant brings a new perspective to Indian cuisine in Plano.
