EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The Lava Lounge, an after-hours club in El Paso, has been permanently closed following a settlement agreement secured by County Attorney Christina Sanchez.
The agreement, signed by Judge Melissa A. Baeza, ends litigation against the club’s owners and operators, prohibiting them from reopening or associating with any establishment named Lava Lounge in El Paso County.
The lounge is located at 1615 Montana Avenue, Suite 117.
The defendants will also pay $12,000 in civil penalties.
The closure follows a lawsuit filed on Oct. 24, 2025, after numerous incidents of alleged criminal activity at the club, including an aggravated robbery, a shooting, and various assaults.
The club was operating as a Bring Your Own Beverage (BYOB) venue while illegally selling alcohol and functioning as an unregistered Sexually Oriented Business (SOB).
County Attorney Sanchez emphasized the importance of the closure, stating, “This agreement permanently terminates an operation that had become a persistent source of violence and illegal activity in our community.”
Residents are encouraged to report suspected nuisance properties to the County Attorney’s Office Nuisance Abatement Team.
