CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Tesla Cybertruck crashed into a gas meter and rolled over Thursday in Flour Bluff, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department.

CCPD Lt. A. Treviño reported that a section of Flour Bluff Drive between Purdue Road and Division Road was closed for several hours after a 45-year-old man driving at excessive speed lost control of the vehicle.

“It appears to have rolled over. We’re not sure how many times, but there’s damage on the roof of the vehicle,” Treviño said. “It ended up landing in that yard over there and broke a gas pipeline.”

The driver was not injured in the crash.

Fire crews responded to repair the damaged gas line, and at 11:08 a.m., Nueces County ESD No. 2 announced on Facebook that the affected roads had reopened.
