The Mediterranean rooftop restaurant and bar Amaya is now open in the Paseo luxury high-rise on Rainey Street.

The overview

Amaya serves shareable dishes blending Mediterranean and Texan influences. Falafel and labneh, the seasonal Mezze Platter, Cured Hamachi and the Tomato Fattoush Salad are among the lighter options on the menu.

Larger plates include Mediterranean Octopus with muhammara, confit potato; the Grilled Branzino with toasted almond rice and cucumber raita; and Shawarma Marinated Beef Skewers with toasted rice, grilled broccolini, and spicy green zhug. For dessert, guests can pick from options like the Tahini Cookie, Strawberry Gelato, and Loukoumades, or Greek-style fried donuts with bananas and caramel.

From the bar, Amaya offers a selection of cocktails, frozen drinks and aperitifs. Signature cocktails include the vodka-based espresso martini La Hora Negra, the gin and cucumber-centered Costa Verde and the Amaya Old Fashioned with bourbon, amaro blend, demerara, and tobacco bitters. Frozen beverages include the Aperitivo Rosa Frosé with dry rosé, Aperol, vodka and lemon, and the Oro di Sorrento Limoncello with honey, coconut, salt and an olive oil drizzle.

Another detail

The 12th-floor dining room was designed by Austin-based real estate firm LV Collective, Paseo’s developer. An outdoor patio also features lounge seating and dining areas overlooking the Rainey Street district.

“We wanted to create a place where Austin could feel both elevated and effortless,” LV Director of Hospitality Matt Wolski said in a statement. “Amaya is the perfect rooftop destination where you can linger over spritzes, share delicious food with friends, and take in the energy of Rainey from above.”
