Clear Creek High School has reportedly evacuated its students and faculty Friday morning after there was a bomb threat.
FBI Houston confirmed they are aware of “multiple threats.” League City Police Department has refuted claims made by school faculty that there were multiple threats made to schools in CCISD.
LCPD also said the caller demanded $10,000 in ransom when they called the police department at 7:41 a.m. this morning. There were similar circumstances in “previous calls this week.”
FBI Houston sent KPRC 2 reporter Bryce Newberry the following statement:
“Good morning Bryce! FBI Houston is aware of the bomb threats made to multiple locations in Galveston County over the past several days, including today. Our local law enforcement partners remain the lead for this situation, but we are in regular contact with them, and we stand ready to assist if requested.”
Earlier this morning, the district reportedly sent out an update on the situation to parents.
2 Investigates reporter Mario Diaz was sent the following message from a parent of a Clear Creek HS student:
“CCISD UPDATE: Although a bomb threat to Clear Creek High School is believed to not be credible, students continue to stage outside. We are not able to facilitate student checkouts at the time. We will continue to update you regularly.”
The circumstances and specific details of the threat remain unclear at this time.
KPRC 2’s Michael Horton spoke with source connected to the Clear Creek HS faculty. The source said that teachers said there have been as many as 10 threats regarding bombs made to CCISD campuses over the past week.
League City Police Department refuted the allegations of “10 bomb threats.” KPRC 2 reporter Bryce Newberry was told that the only bomb threat received at a CCISD school this week was this morning —not 10 at campuses all week.
