A man’s body has been recovered from Vilbig Lake after crews mounted a two-day, multiagency search, according to a news release Wednesday from Irving police.

Officers responded Monday to a call to assist fire crews after a report at 7:45 p.m. about a man falling from a boat into the lake, police said.

“The reporting party stated that the individual fell into the water and could no longer be seen,” the release said.

The man has been identified as Dominic Brown, 51, according to online records from the Dallas County medical examiner’s office.

Police said Brown was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident.

Upon arriving, officers deployed drones while fire crews searched the area, according to authorities. Lewisville’s dive team also helped in the search, according to officials.

Police said they were unable to find the man “despite extensive efforts.”

The following day, as recovery operations resumed, fire crews from Irving and Grand Prairie, along with the Grand Prairie Dive Team and Texas Game Wardens, continued the search.

About 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Brown’s body was recovered, police said.
