BYU ranks No. 11 in the latest CFP Top 25, and Texas Tech is No. 4. That means BYU must win to earn a guaranteed spot as one of the five highest-ranked conference champions, while Texas Tech is in regardless of the result. A win will give the Red Raiders a first-round bye.
This will be the second meeting of the season for these two teams. They played in Lubbock on Nov. 8, when Texas Tech blew out BYU, 29-7. Texas Tech’s defense forced three turnovers in the victory.
Both teams come into this game at 11-1. Texas Tech’s lone loss was at Arizona State on Oct. 18, 26-22.
