SINTON, Texas — Lace up your running shoes – or walking – and get ready to support local heroes! Registration is underway for the inaugural Sinton Volunteer Fire Department Turkey Trot 5K and 1K Fun Run for children.
The event aims to raise funds for the Sinton Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) – a completely volunteer force of about 30 dedicated members. These are the same first responders who jumped into action during the devastating Sinton Welder Fire back in March, putting their community first in a time of crisis.
Proceeds from the Turkey Trot will go toward purchasing emergency supplies and new equipment, helping ensure the department is prepared for future emergencies.
So far, about 70 participants have already signed up, and organizers expect that number to keep growing as race day approaches.
In addition to the run itself, there will be live music, games, and local food trucks on site, like Gator’s Bar-B-Que & More.
The run will take place Saturday, November 15, beginning and ending at the Old Welder Park in Sinton.
