EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Texas Department of Transportation has released a list of road closures that may affect your commute, including a 48-hour road closure starting on Saturday, Oct. 18, on Interstate 10 in West El Paso.
I-10 Widening West
Saturday, Oct. 18 through Monday, Oct. 20, from 5 a.m. to 5 a.m. (48-hour weekend closure)
I-10 EB at Redd Rd. closed.
I-10 WB Left lane from Mesa to Redd closed.
Detour: Traffic will exit at Redd and take South Desert to Mesa.
Crews will be removing Portable Traffic Concrete Barrier, striping, painting Thorn Bridge/Rail, and opening EB ramp to I-10 after Thorn and the existing EB Mesa on ramp.
Monday, Oct. 20 through Saturday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (as needed)
North and South Desert between Vinton and Thorn alternate lane closures.
Crews will be working on electrical and miscellaneous construction work.
Saturday, Oct. 25 through Monday, Oct. 27, from 5 a.m. to 5 a.m. (48-hour weekend closure)
I-10 westbound at Mesa closed.
I-10 eastbound between Redd and Thorn left lane closed.
Detour: Traffic will exit at Mesa and continue to North Desert through Mesa, Thorn, and Redd signals and re-enter I-10 after Redd.
Crews will be removing portable traffic concrete barrier and opening I-10 westbound entrance ramp after Mesa.
Preventive Maintenance Project
Sunday, Oct. 19 to Thursday, Oct. 23, nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Grand River Drive north and southbound alternating lane closures between Gateway West Boulevard and Notre Dame Lane.
Whitetail Deer Drive north and southbound alternating lane closures between Greg Drive and Cottontail Drive.
US 62 (Paisano Drive) west and eastbound alternating lane closures between Stanton Street and Alameda Avenue JCT.
Crews will be performing mobile operations, multiple and alternating lane closures for replacing roadway pavement markings.
I-10 Widening West 2
Monday, Oct. 20 through Saturday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
I-10 east and westbound between Anthony and Nashua alternate lane closures.
North and South Desert between Anthony and Nashua alternate lane closures.
Crews will be placing concrete and haul trucks delivering material.
Monday, Oct. 20 through Saturday, Oct. 25, nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
I-10 east and westbound between Anthony and Nashua left lane closed.
Crews will be conducting concrete placement for new pavement surface.
Artcraft
Monday, Oct. 20 through Friday, Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (as needed)
SH-178 (Artcraft) east and westbound between New Mexico State Line and Doniphan alternate lane closures.
Crews will be performing illumination install and wall installation.
South Desert between Clarkstone and Blue Sky alternate lane closures.
North Desert between Helen of Troy and Northern Pass alternate lane closures.
Crews will be loading and unloading material and equipment.

Crews will be relocating sanitary sewer.
Borderland Expressway Phase 2
Monday, Oct. 20 through Friday, Oct. 24, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
US-54 east and westbound between Mesquite Hills and McCombs left lane closed.
Crews will be working on paving detours.
Full Weekend Closure
Saturday, Oct. 25 through Monday, Oct. 27, 24/7, from 4 a.m. on 10/18 to 6 a.m. on 10/27
McCombs north and southbound between US-54 and Stan Roberts closed.
Local traffic will be allowed to access residential neighborhood, golf course, and El Paso Natural Gas station.
Detour: Traffic will be detoured using US-54, Martin Luther King, and Stan Roberts
Crews will be installing drainage structure.
