December 1 — 4000 West Camp Wisdom Road (victim: Billy Brightman)
December 2 — 2100 W. Ledbetter Drive (victim: Jerrian Jones)
December 4 — 800 Cade Road (victim: Jerome Wooten)
December 6 — 2700 Samuell Boulevard (victim: Christian Velasquez Rosas)
The Dallas Express is continuing to track homicide activity throughout December.
Proposition U Context
Dallas continues to face elevated levels of violent crime while the police department remains significantly understaffed. As previously reported by The Dallas Express, the City has yet to meet the voter-mandated requirements of Proposition U, which called for a force of 4,000 sworn officers and competitive compensation ranking within the top five departments in the metroplex.
City data shows violent crime trending lower than last year, but overall levels remain high and continue to strain a department operating below Proposition U benchmarks.
