LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Democratic candidate Dr. Maggie Durham is challenging Lubbock State Representative Carl Tepper for his seat. Dr. Durham announced her candidacy for Texas House District 84.
She says her campaign is focused on strengthening rural communities, elevating the state’s public education system and expanding opportunities for students and families across the South Plains.
“Texas should be a national leader in education, not hovering near the bottom. We owe our students and teachers so much more, and I intend to fight for the investment and respect they deserve,” Durham said.
Dr. Durham is a community advocate, parent and lifelong Texan with deep roots in the South Plains. She has spent years working on issues that impact working families, public schools and rural communities.
