LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Frenship Memorial Panthers have earned their fifth win in their first season as a program as they topped the Lubbock Christian JV Eagles 35-20.
LCHS JV took a 6-0 lead when a WR Brylan Cunningham caught a touchdown pass from QB Linkoln Coats which was almost intercepted. The Eagles doubled their lead when Coats faked a handoff and connected with Ethan Mendez, whose TD doubled the lead for the Eagles.
After Memorial made it 21-20 in the fourth, QB Trevor Lewis found a wide-open Brett Walters in for the score- which helped the Panthers pull away for the win.
The two return to play each other next week, also set for Thursday at Masked Rider Capital Field.
