Four teams remain in play for state championships in each classification division in the 2025 Texas high school football playoffs, as the fifth round arrives this week: UIL state semifinals.
The possibility remains for three 2024 state championship finals to end up as 2025 state championship game rematches:

• In Class 6A Division II, Austin Vandegrift and Southlake Carroll, which played for last year’s title, will play in separate semifinals.
• In Class 5A Division II, last year Richmond Randle beat Dallas South Oak Cliff for the championship and they both play in separate state semifinals this Friday.
• In Class 4A Division I, last year’s finalists — Celina and Kilgore — still are alive and will play in separate semifinals.
