A man is dead after he was stabbed in Old East Dallas Monday morning, Dallas police said in a statement.
Police responded to reports of a stabbing in the 4800 block of Gaston Avenue at about 9 a.m., according to the statement.
Officials determined that the suspect, Cleto Banda, 33, had stabbed a man in the neck.
The man, who was not identified, was transported by Dallas Fire-Rescue to a local hospital, where he later died, according to authorities.

Police located Banda nearby and took him into custody. he faces a murder charge.
As of Monday night, Banda remained in the Dallas County jail with no bond amount set, according to jail records.
It remains unclear if Banda has an attorney.
