EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — It’s Mutt Monday at KTSM!

The holidays are here, and if the season is looking a little quiet for you this year, El Paso Animal Services suggests fostering, as it’s a great way to invite a companion into your home. They say taking a pet out of the cold shelter, even if just for a short while, can be very beneficial to their lives.

Here are some ways El Paso Animal Services says fostering can help a pet:

Many shelter pets do not know how to live in a home properly, and fostering helps them learn.

A pet who’s gone on foster can increase their likelihood of being adopted, since they may become house-trained and learn boundaries.

You can choose to foster for a minimum of 4 weeks, or extend your contract as you’d like!

Most supplies are provided by us! As supplies last, we will hand them out to our fosters.

It’s completely free! All that’s needed is a valid photo ID, to be 18 years of age or older, and to live within El Paso!

Animal Services and KTSM are ready to help you find your perfect match.

For more information on adoptions and events you can attend in your area, you can always visit the El Paso Animal Services online.
