TEXAS — Gov. Greg Abbott, along with the conservative advocacy group Turning Point USA, are pushing to have chapters of said organization in every Texas high school.
The nonprofit organization, originally founded by Charlie Kirk, is known for bringing conservative personalities to engage in conversation on college and high school campuses. Abbott talked about the importance of the organization in a press release.
“There has been no moment in time during the course of this century when there was such an urgency and a need for an organization like TPUSA and Club America,” Abbott said. “They have helped to restore moral clarity, constitutional principles, and our founding values. I am grateful for the young men and women behind me and their peers across the state for stepping up and identifying themselves as the future leaders of the Lone Star State.”
According to the press release, Abbott also highlighted Kirk and his “strengthening of the conservative movement.” He also compared the importance of the organization to Club America.
