1. South Texas mayor says hardline immigration policies are hurting city revenues, businesses

Outbound traffic at the Donna International Bridge is not what it was a year ago.

“We’re averaging a little over 62,000 crossings, when it used to be upwards of, close to 70,000 crossings,” said Donna Mayor David Moreno.

Moreno said the cause of fewer people coming and going from Mexico is the hardline immigration polices implemented by President Donald Trump’s administration.

2. Austin airport receives $108 million grant from FAA for expansion program

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) this week committed $108 million to go toward expanding Austin’s main airport.

The funding will support a portion of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport’s Journey With AUS expansion program, which will add new taxiways and upgrade airfield infrastructure.

3. Amateur boxing meetups in Socorro, El Paso parks spark safety concerns, city pushback

A series of amateur boxing meetups in public parks across Socorro and nearby El Paso is stirring debate after viral social media videos caught the attention of city officials.
