DALLAS – Three people and their dogs were rescued from an apartment fire Wednesday morning, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue officials.

What we know:
The fire was reported at 10:52 a.m. at 2468 Bahama Dr. in the West Oak Cliff area of Dallas.
When firefighters arrived, they reported black smoke coming from a first-floor apartment. They were told there were people and dogs trapped inside the apartment.Â
Firefighters went into search and rescue mode and moved into the apartment, officials stated in a news release.
The fire was brought under control.
One person was seen being put into an ambulance on a stretcher, but the extent of that person’s injuries are not known at this point.
What we don’t know:
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
