Dallas Trinity FC and the Houston Dash are set to face off in a friendly match on Feb. 28, 2026 at the Cotton Bowl, the clubs announced Wednesday.

Dubbed the “I-45 Texas Showdown,” the matchup pits the Texas-based franchises from the United States’ two top-level women’s soccer leagues, the NWSL and the Gainbridge Super League. The two teams played a preseason friendly earlier this season where the clubs drew 1-1 in Houston.

“We have great respect for the Houston Dash of the NWSL and the impact they’ve had on advancing women’s soccer, particularly in the state of Texas,” Trinity head coach and general manager Chris Petrucelli said in a statement. “Hosting them for the inaugural I-45 Texas Showdown allows both clubs to highlight the growth of the sport in our state and to give fans an exciting matchup. We’re appreciative of the partnership and excited to help establish this as a marquee fixture for women’s soccer.”

Tickets for the friendly will be made available to the general public on Jan. 3.
