The city of Sachse kicked off the holiday season last week with its annual Christmas Extravaganza on Wednesday, Dec. 3, filling the municipal campus with a parade, tree lighting, performances and family activities at the Michael J. Felix Community Center.

The parade kicked off at 6 p.m. from Miles Road and concluded at the Municipal Complex, where Sachse High School’s choir and percussion ensemble performed, parade winners were announced and the city’s Christmas tree was lit at 7 p.m.

Sugar & Spice Soccer earned first place with its candy-themed float, while First at Firewheel Church took second with a nativity scene. Sewell Elementary and its PTA placed third with a Grinch-themed entry. Camp Gladiator received the Judges’ Choice award for its decorated Jeep.
