Troy Aikman fell short of predicting an Eagles collapse, but it’s pretty clear the former Cowboys QB has a complete lack of faith in first-place Philadelphia.

Aikman made his weekly appearance with “The Musers” on Sportsradio 96.7 FM/1310 The Ticket (KTCK-AM) on Thursday, and with it having been a full week since the Cowboys last played, Aikman spent quite a bit of time discussing the Eagles, who’s Monday loss to the Chargers is a little more fresh on the mind.

Last week Aikman predicted that if the Cowboys beat the Lions and the Chargers beat the Eagles, he thought Dallas would complete its comeback and win the division over Philly.

Well, he was half right.

So where does Aikman stand now? Well, he’s not exactly confident that the Cowboys are about to rattle off four straight wins to swipe the NFC East out from under the Eagles’ nose, but he states in no uncertain terms that he thinks Dallas is the better team right now.

See Aikman’s full answer below.

Question: The Cowboys probably have to win all four … what’s the mentality of having to be perfect for the rest of the season?

Troy Aikman: “Yeah, they’ve kind of known that though, and even after losing … And if the Eagles had been able to win against the Chargers after the Cowboys loss, then I think it was all but over. But, you know, they’re still in it. Obviously they got their work cut out for them.

“The schedule in general looks decent for Dallas, and it looks decent for Philadelphia as well. They’ve got the one game at Buffalo, but, I think for Dallas to have any opportunity they’re gonna have to win out. What I’ve seen of the Eagles, they could win the next four games, they could very easily lose the next four games. It’s just hard to tell.

“I will say right now, watching the two teams? I think Dallas is the better team, I really don’t think it’s close, quite honestly. As far as how they are playing relative to [the Eagles].

“And not just the way they’re playing, but also the vibe or the energy you get from the team relative to what’s happening in Philadelphia. I mean it’s just kind of mind-blowing what’s happening there, that team just doesn’t seem like a team that really enjoys playing together, you know? And it doesn’t seem like the first year we’ve said that.

“So I’m not sure exactly what’s happening there. Anything can happen. But right now, as you know, it’s a long shot for Dallas to get in.”
