We remain warm and dry on Saturday, but a cold front moves Saturday night to cool us off Sunday morning into the 30s and 40s. By Sunday, highs are in the 50s.

1. Elon Musk reaffirms that Tesla robotaxis will be fully autonomous in Austin by end of 2025

During an event for xAI, Elon Musk’s AI company, he stated that the Tesla robotaxis in Austin will be fully autonomous by the end of the year.

2. Texas outpaces other U.S. states in job growth, unemployment rate remains stable

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) published its reported job growth and employment statistics from September 2024 to September 2025.

According to the TWC, over 168,000 jobs have been added to the state, representing a 1.2% growth rate. TWC Chairman Joe Esparza said in a news release that he was thankful for the growth.

3. Construction underway on I-35 redesign in Austin

Texans are no stranger to the state’s roadways and the construction and traffic headaches that come with them. As the number of people on the roads increases, so does the need for more capacity. 

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) project tracker shows over 8,000 active construction projects underway or starting soon. That includes a portion of Interstate 35 in the capital city.
