Each December, RISD staff and campus employees recognize educators who go above and beyond for their students, with principals recognized separately. A teacher at each campus in the district is recognized, often with a well-earned classroom celebration and/or presents. Awards were announced by campus social media accounts on Dec. 10 before RISD revealed the full awards list on Dec. 11.
At Lake Highlands Elementary, longtime RISD educator Craig Titsworth (aka Coach T) received a certificate and a basket full of candy in a student-filled gym. At Moss Haven Elementary, fifth grade teacher Sarah Orr’s reaction to the recognition was recorded in a short Facebook video.
