Sunny skies will dominate Saturday with an increase on clouds as the weather changes late Saturday through Sunday. Saturday will be sunny and afternoon highs will return to the 60s and 70s with west to southwest wind. The speeds will be gusty at times and there will be some elevated fire danger on Saturday.
Later in the afternoon on Saturday, much colder air will move southward through the region bringing a winter-feel to the South Plains.
Lubbock will climb to the mid-70s on Saturday but only make it to the low to mid-40s on Sunday. In addition, gusty north winds will add to the chill on Sunday along with increased cloud cover. You’ll need a coat as you head to church on Sunday morning and through the remainder of the day.
You can also expect nighttime lows in the mid-20s Sunday and Monday morning. So, if you turned your sprinklers back on, you’ll need to turn them off tomorrow afternoon.
