COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Texas A&M women’s basketball held their fourth annual ‘Bike Build’ event. The ‘Bike Build’ works to donate bikes and helmets to children across the Brazos Valley.
This year, the Aggies we able to put together over 200 bikes, surpassing last year’s total of 160.
“It’s just number one,” Texas A&M women’s basketball head coach, Joni Taylor said. “It’s one of our core values here at selfless service. But I think for our team like it’s so important to understand the platform we have, not only on the basketball floor, but in the community as well.”
“Just knowing the impact that we’re making by helping people,” Texas A&M women’s basketball forward, Lauren Ware said. “We think about who these who these bikes are going to, kids who aren’t might not even get a Christmas present, or normally don’t get a Christmas present, so it’s a good feeling.”
