What a day for Dallas Goedert! He didn’t get what he wanted during the recent Philadelphia Eagles offseason, but at this rate, the leadership structure might be forced to keep him around.
Two more receiving TDs give him nine on the campaign. That’s a personal best. He has never tallied more than five up until now. Two more trips to the end zone will give him a single-season record for tight ends.
Dallas Goedert closes in on Pete Retzlaff’s franchise record.
Dallas Goedert, with his eighth and ninth TD receptions of the season, passes Zach Ertz (2018) for the second most by a tight end in Eagles single-season history. Ertz caught eight in 2018. Goedert now eyes Pete Retzlaff, who has the franchise record. Retzlaff scored ten in 1965.Â
The only blemish on his day was dropping a sure touchdown pass despite being wide open. That’s okay. He more than made up for it with a phenomenal performance. Don’t look now, but the guy wearing the Number 88 jersey is beginning to look like the dominant force we always knew he could be.
