What to know about the Rockets vs. Nuggets Peacock NBA Monday game on December 15
The Nuggets look very solid this season, and as you’d probably expect, Nikola Jokic is a big reason why. The big Serbian leads the league in assists and rebounds, and he’s in the Top 5 in terms of scoring too. His teammate Jamal Murray isn’t far behind in the scoring race, and together they make the Nuggets one of just two teams (the Lakers are the other) to have two players among the Top 20 scorers of the season so far. And the rest of the team is pretty darn good too.
But the Rockets aren’t far behind. They’re currently up near the top of the Western Conference standings, and at 37, Durant is proving he still has what it takes to lead a team. He’s been averaging more than 25 points a game this season, and he’s got a roster of weapons around him that’s made the Rockets one of the best offenses in the league. Even more importantly for this game, though, the Rockets currently lead the league in rebounds, and they’re up near the top in defensive ranking. They can score, but they steal all your second chance points, too, and that’s exactly what’s needed to take down the Nuggets. Expect a battle in the paint, and a very evenly matched game that will certainly matter as playoff positioning heats up.
