EL PASO, Texas — According to vacation rental website HomeToGo, El Paso is one of the most-searched destinations in the country, part of a movement toward Western-oriented locations influenced by a cultural shift toward desert beauty and country music.

The report states that search trends for El Paso are up 191% year over year from 2024, commensurate with other Western destinations such as Marana, Ariz., and Yucca Valley, Calif. This increase reflects a similar trend on social media, where 31% of Americans seek inspiration from Instagram, and 29% from TikTok, with higher percentages among millennial and Gen Z users.

El Paso’s affordability for vacation rentals also figures into the surge, as the average cost to rent per night is only $62.21.
