The Christmas season has always been one of my favorite times of the year because I am a sucker for a classic Christmas song. I’m that girl that starts listening to Christmas music on November 1st!
You can find me singing along to Christmas music all season long (Fun fact: Music and singing was always my first love) and this weekend I’ll be able to sing out loud on stage as I join Native El Pasoan and country artist Abe Mac for his annual Honkytonk Christmas Concert at Speaking Rock!
Abe Mac is a Socorro ISD alum, UTEP graduate, and former UTEP Miners football player that now calls San Antonio home. Even though he lives miles away from his hometown, he loves returning to the Sun City to give back to the community that did so much for him when he was younger.

Abe Mac Spread the Holiday Cheer in El Paso
Before Abe Mac and his band take center stage at Speaking rock for their Honkytonk Christmas concert, Abe will be spreading the Christmas cheer at local schools with the fourth annual Spread the Holiday Cheer concert series which is a festive, feel-good tradition designed to spark joy, music, and a whole lot of Christmas spirit across the community.
From December 15th to the 17th Abe will have special performances for Socorro ISD and Ysleta del Sur Pueblo students. Each stop features a 30-minute holiday experience complete with live festive music and a reading of Mac’s children’s book, Christmas Snow, creating a magical moment for young audiences just in time for winter break.
The holiday fun continues beyond the classroom. On December 17, Mac will perform at the Casa Auto Group Make-A-Wish Foundation event, spreading cheer to families during an especially meaningful time of year. Then, on December 21, the series wraps up with a free, family-friendly Christmas celebration at Speaking Rock.

Abe Mac: A Honkytonk Christmas
The Speaking Rock Christmas Festival begins at 3 p.m. with activities for all ages, including visits with Santa Claus, holiday characters, and festive entertainment.
At 5 p.m., Abe Mac takes the stage for A Honkytonk Christmas, a heartwarming holiday performance filled with seasonal favorites. The evening will also feature special performances by Mariachi Los Gavilanes and yours truly, me!
I get to dip back into my first love, singing, and performing two Christmas songs with Abe! I’ll be singing “Silent Night” and “Frosty The Snowman.” Here’s a fun little throwback of me singing Silent Night with my fofrmer KVIA co-workers Estela Casas and John Ross.
