Texas A&M is targeting Brad Cornelson for a senior role on its offensive support staff, sources told FootballScoop on Monday.

Cornelson would be expected to support newly-minted offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins, who was formally elevated from wide receivers coach to coordinator on Monday following Colin Klein’s acceptance of the Kansas State head coaching position.

Wiggins and Cornelson worked together on Justin Fuente’s Memphis and Virginia Tech staffs from 2012-18; Cornelson coached the quarterbacks and served as the offensive coordinator at Virginia Tech, while Wiggins coached the wide receivers at both spots. Wiggins left after the 2018 season to coach wide receivers on Nick Saban’s Alabama staff in 2019, while Cornelson remained at Virginia Tech through the end of Fuente’s run in 2021.

Cornelson then spent 2023-24 as the offensive coordinator at Sam Houston, and led the Bearkats to a win over Georgia Southern in the 2024 New Orleans Bowl after KC Keeler took the Temple job. He spent the 2025 season as the head coach at Enid High School in Oklahoma.

Cornelson was the offensive coordinator at Northeastern State, a Division II school in Oklahoma, from 2009-11.

Wiggins, a former New Mexico running back who has been in coaching since 2003, will be a first-time offensive coordinator for the Aggies in 2026.
